User Interface Design & Development Vertrax makes a powerful route tracking software product that provides mapping utilities to oil and propane companies with fleets of vehicles. The software maps out optimal routes for delivery based on immediate requests and scheduled deliveries. The product was built using Sybase's Powerbuilder, and needed to be more intuitive for all kinds of users. The software needed to be operable by even novice users. Working with the developers, I chose various color schemes that would lighten up an otherwise grey application, and incorporated icons into the main menu. A complete series of icons was developed for a toolbar specific to the business of oil and propane delivery. The final deliverable included screen mockups for future consideration which addressed advanced/power users and enhanced logic.
